Lower your Energy Footprint with Eco Friendly Toilets

These days, we find that it is very important for us to reduce our energy footprint and to be perfectly honest, our toilets aren’t helping us. Here’s the problem: when you move into a home you really don’t think about how much water the toilet is wasting. Actually, you don’t’ tend to think about the toilet much at all. If you were directly asked, there is a good chance you would say that you don’t use the toilet much, and you don’t see it much, but this simply isn’t true. We tend to spend a LOT of time in there, and every flush we make can be detrimental to the environment. For this reason, eco friendly toilets are becoming more and more popular.

Eco Friendly Toilets – Why Would you Want To?

Okay, so why exactly would you want to worry about an eco friendly toilet? Does it really make that much of a difference? The answer is absolutely yes, yes it does, and we’re going to quickly go over why. Let’s talk about older toilets for a moment. Yes, they work, and yes, they do get the job done, but at the end of the day, they waste too much water. We’re talking about a total of 3.5 to 7 gallons of water per flush. Sit down and think about that for a moment. 7 gallons of water is the same as 7 gallon jugs of milk – that’s what you’re using every single time you flush the toilet, so if your goal was to save water, you’re not really completing that objective right now, are you?

In recent days, things have changed significantly – did you know that Federal plumbing standards currently dictate that the newer toilets are only allowed to use up to 1.6 gallons per flush? That’s a serious difference, and we’re not even talking about the more eco friendly toilets that are able to use only 1.28 gallons per flush. As you can see, there are plenty of things to worry about when you’re trying to save water, and while you might be doing well in other areas of your home, the toilet is sitting in your bathroom destroying all of your efforts. So what do you do? Well, if you weren’t thinking about a bathroom renovation before, you might be thinking about one now.

A Renovation to Remember

If your plan is to switch to modern toilets, then you might want to consider one piece toilets. First of all, they’re newer, obviously, and with that being the case they are going to conform to the new energy standards. In addition to that, one piece toilets just look better. They’re easier to clean, and they flow better with the theme of your bathroom. Not to mention hey take up a lot less space. There are a ton of other benefits that we could cite for these toilets, but if you’re not sold by now, you never will be.

If you’re interested in replacing your current, inefficient model with one of our one piece toilets, then make sure you take a quick look at our store and see what we have to offer. We have a few great models that will serve your needs in terms of both aesthetics and energy footprint reduction. It might cost you a little bit more, but it’s going to be well worth it! It looks good, it feels good, and at the end of the day, it’s going to save you some serious cash.
